It took me a while and I can't remember when I first hear the advice but I'm now a firm believer that the journey is the most important thing - and not the destination.
I’m with you I have to remind myself to look up sometimes. For me it’s more watching where I step since we have Timber rattle snakes and copper head snakes here so I tend to always look down and ahead to not anger one of the spicy ones 🤣 . That said you’re so right slowing down and taking it all in is something I too say so very often. It truly is amazing what’s out there when we do look up and around more often.
More and more I find it essential to slow down and really take in the beauty around me. Not just in nature but also the people in my life, even if it's brief. I too really love the first image. There's something about how the background fades in a mist and the leaves almost sparkle that draws me in.
Slowing down definitely helps! The same scene in different light can produce different photo ops!
I really love your first photo!
Thank you

Oh yeah I think I’d be looking at the floor if there was a possibility of standing on a poisonous snake.

So true, thank you
